I have an account which hasn't been used in some time. I'm not sure I've actually ever posted, but I used the forums to learn how to mod my car.

I've learned quite a bit about my car, done some mods, and wanted to introduce myself and my car:

I'm driving a 2001 LS (3.4 L). Bought it with 14K miles a few years ago and it's at around 43K now. Mods will be listed below. I honestly didn't know a lot about cars when I bought my 3400. There was a 6th Gen Monte Carlo at the top of my street growing up and I knew one day that I'd own one.

The advice on the forums was to sell it for an SS. I think that's fine advice, but stubbornly I continue to proudly mod my car. The process has taught me tons about cars. The reason I am posting on the forum and introducing myself is because I'd like to encourage others to mod their 3400, especially if they are new to the car world (Do the best with what you got ). I've had a blast doing the work and I see no reason others shouldn't also. I'm not racing, but my grocery-getter hauls ***. I've got big plans for my car and the incremental changes I've done keep me grinning ear to ear.

Mods:
Dual Exhaust
COA
EGR delete
2.5 inch down-pipe
3500 upper intake swap (ported)
ported and polished lower intake
68 mm throttle body
PCM tine
180 t-stat
autolite spark plugs

Mods coming in a month:
headers

mods coming in a year:
3500 top swap w/ ported cylinder heads
cams
custom rolling rockers

Contrary to popular believe, there are tons of mods for the 3400. I'm not ever going to push 400 WHP (unless I turbo.... but that's a whole other thread and amount of money I don't care to throw at my car), but that's okay for me. I love my Monte. Anywahoo. Hello everybody. I hope to continue to learn and maybe even offer some advice in the future.

Welcome back Dan! I'm with you on the whole Mod what you got thing. I'v had plenty of cars (junk) that I should have not modded, but I did it anyway! It's the passion of it for me. I am glad that I was lucky enough to get me a SS this time though.
