Default new member, old car

hey guys, as stated above im a new member, ive got a 1985 monte carlo. the monte is currently a 4.3 but ive already got a 4bolt 350 in the machine shop getting ready.

the car sat at a barn for years and driven on occasion by a elderly lady, in short it has 89,000 original on it, with no rust so far, and its completely original

i dont plan to do too much to it, but ive said that about many projects in the past and ended up looking back and realizing one things leads to another, so we will see how it goes

im not sure exactly what the color is called, its a maroonish brown (definately faded) but its going to remain that way for a little while, the main plan for this project is a sleeper, hence the screen name.

trust me, i cant wait either, im kind of bummed this monte isa automatic, but i picked it up for a steal so not to much to complain to, and im not going through the work of mounting linkage for a clutch, just not worth the effort to me.

the 350 we are doing now for it isnt going to be anything too special, we are looking for 290hp to the wheels, ive got a virgin 454 block we are thinking of making a serious engine out of, but thats still just a thought, the 350 is actual.

Good looking car. The body looks like it is in great shape. It just needs TLC. A new paint job and a good detail. I like the stock rally wheels too. Do you intend on keeping them?I bet a shop could refinish/paint them.
