Hi fellow Monte Owner,
I have owned my 2004 MC Supercharged SS for over one year. It's a great ride!! Have 101,000 miles on her and have just completed the M and R suggested at 100k.
My first challenge has appeared and I need some advice from you on how to correct it.
It's my Radio....... No sound from the FM mode. AM works but very weak. The com station previews come in clear as a bell. Cd has never worked. Door chimes do not chime.
So I replaced the amp after reading about my problem with no results.
I check the wiring in the back seat floorboard and its dry and fine.
Any suggestions?
Thanks so much,
Rshields

Welcome!
First, is this a factory radio? The door chimes in these cars route through the radio, so if there is an aftermarket one installed, it is possible someone did not install the aftermarket door chime module. As for the radio signal, first I would ensure the antenna is firmly plugged into the radio and has not come out and is not damaged. I know there is a module towards the back of the car to handle the antenna and defroster, since both are in the glass. But as I understand, when that fails, typically the signal gets bad when the defroster is active.
