2004 Monte Carlo LS 3.4L
Hi all, I have a 2004 Monte. It DOES NOT have On-Star, but it DOES have a factory amplifier in the back in the trunk. I CANNOT find a radio integration wiring harness ANYWHERE for this. Can anybody help me and point me in the right direction? I am so lost, and I want to keep my chimes. Thanks!!

I never went with an aftermarket radio. But, I would imagine Crutchfield: Car Stereo, Speakers, Home Theater, LED LCD TV, Cameras can set you up with everything you need.

I just went into Crutchfield and plugged in my '04 SS, picked a random JVC stereo and they immediately gave me this pop up recommending I select a harness. The first one, the Metra VT-GMRC-01 looks like it fits the bill for having a factory amp and maintaining the door chime.
Keep in mind, when you get rid of the factory radio you loose the easy user interface to some of the additional features of the Monte (fob programming, resetting oil life and tire pressure monitoring). I believe there are alternate ways to access those interfaces without the radio. I know some people re-located the stock radio to maintain those features. Also, I'm not sure if the anti-theft security in these cars has an issue with the removal of the stock radio.
I wanted a radio to support MP3s on CDs when I bought my Monte in '08. I did not like all the goofy stuff at the time with the radio (door chimes and loss of that user interface). I found the factory MP3 radio from an '04 Cavvy and Venture Van works in the Monte (just have to get a dealer to program it). Once I found that solution (which was about $50), I quit digging deeper on aftermarket audio for my Monte.
