ME Barty63
My name is Bart S. I'm from Central IL. Retired carpenter out of Local 183 E. Peoria. I used to be big into Camaro's and Monte Carlo's, but kids grand kids you get the idea. I grew up in the automotive industry. My Parents owned a full repair shop, machine shop, parts store and towing. I got out of it in the late 80's when computers getting big. Couldn't make any money. We had the technical equipment. Back then the engineers designing the computers couldn't figure out their own technical problems so I got out. I now enjoy messing with small engines and some automotive piddling around GM & Jeep basically just my own and kids vehicles. I'm working on a 1999 Monte Carlo Z34. It started out blowing the dash lights and taillight fuse. Previous owner had put after market stereo system. Everything was installed properly. But it shorted out the head light switch which caused the blowing of the fuse. Put in new switch and now the dash lights and taillight will not shut off unless you pull the switch or fuse. Checked everything again and it tells me the switch is bad. I put another switch in and the same thing. Not very likely both switches are bad. HELP I'm lost on where to go now. Thanks Bart S.
