Talking Long Time Lurker

Hey everyone, I've been lurking this forum since 2010 when I first bought my 2000 Monte Carlo Pace Car and you've all been an AMAZING source of information when it came to restoring my beast. I've had mine since 2010 and I've been (very) slowly fixing it up when money became available. Thus far I've replaced both fenders, both bumpers (front bumper twice!), most of the emblems, ignition switch (twice), reattached the windshield wiper fluid container, and a LOT of electrical work. ALL of it has been after reading posts on this forum about other common issues folks have had.

So I don't think I'm supposed to ask for help in the "New Here" area, but I am having a heck of a time finding one specific piece during this restoration: GM 88893470 - it's the Limited Edition emblem that goes on the rear deck. I've checked the local dealership and GM no longer stocks the product and I can't find it anywhere online. Wondering if anyone can help. Two owners previous was a "customizer" who tore off all the emblems and wrecked the car twice. He had Lambo doors installed which were later redone but the door post has been thoroughly ruined.

I have a lot more questions as well, but I'm at work and can't send photos.

Welcome to the MCForum.

I was just talking with a fellow at a Carshow about that recently and he had the Black 01 Pace-car edition and he took it to a sign shop and had them print one up for him. There is also an emblem shop called Phoenix Graphics and I think they will have some of the Pace car stickers.

Just curious have you tried reaching out to some of the online vendors? Just searching that PN on Google seems to bring up several places that appear to show that they have it (Tasca parts and Gmpartsonline being two) - but given the status I'd probably call or email before placing an order so you don't waste time with them taking the order just to cancel it.

Even though GM as a whole doesn't stock it, you may get lucky and find one of these places actually has some NOS.

Welcome!

I believe most dealerships can check for new/old stock with other dealerships. If this was done and you are not having any luck, next option is used via eBay or junk yard or even try car-parts.com (I got some good stuff thanks to car-parts.com).

Yeah, I've checked with the dealership and it's no longer in stock nor could they find any inventory locally. I was able to find a "hidden" one on eBay that was pretty rough for $30, but I figure with some buffing, polishing, paint, and clear I should be able to restore it. As is life and this wonderful economy of ours, my job was eliminated today so the rest of my restoration plans are on hold once again.

Default New User - Also Looking for Emblem!

Hey everyone Been silently browsing this site for a couple years and finally joined in with a similar problem. I have a 2001 Pace Car (Black with Silver ground effects) and the Limited Edition trunk emblem is totally bubbled/chipping/faded. Desperately hoping to find one anywhere I can too if possible. Any help/advice/knowledge would be appreciated Thank you!!
