Default Hey new and have questions

I'm Nick I inherited my grandfather's 2004 Monte Carlo LS with a 3.4l. He wanted an ss. So in his memory I'm slowly turning it into an SS clone. Will a 2004 Impala SS supercharged 3.8 work if I get the whole car? I know the motor fits. Not sure about the transmission and wireing/ECU? I've been wanting to put. 3.8l Supercharged in my Monte. And I found the Impala as a doner car. And most of the links to the swap pages are dead.

The 3.8 is a 90* block and the 3.4 is a 60* block, so these are not the same block, BUT, they have the same transmission bolting pattern.

Yes you can do this swap. The Impala and Monte are near identical under the skin, with exception to 2 vs 4 doors. And being 2004's on both the donor and the car for the swap, even better. I would suggest getting both the motor and trans from the donor. Even though the trans will bolt up, the gearing and such on the two transmissions will differ. As for the PCM, if you swap the motor and trans, you will want to have the Impala PCM re-programmed to match you VIN. Outside of that, no biggie. Heck, I think you can run the car without reprogramming the VIN (just need to perform a security re-learn when you put the Impala PCM in the Monte). But having a different VIN *might* cause an issue (such as if you have emission checks that read the PCM).

Default I've got this so far

From the 2004 Impala, supercharger, IM, TB, harness, fuse box, ECU, ignition module/cylinder/ switch keys throttle cable, gauge cluster, fuel rails/injectors, axles and transmission. He sold the block and heads already . But I got a a sweet deal at $345 for all that. I'm looking for heads and a block with the pulleys and brackets at the moment. I know where one is but It had a fire and I'm not sure if it's worth what he wants. I'm trying to get him to give me the whole car for $300 here in a few weeks. Unless someone here is close to Western PA and wants to help a fellow Monte owner out. I'll pay cash or trade for other Monte parts. I've got a few dicent parts left that I won't need. I've got 2 NA 3800s one known running and driving in a 2003 Jeff Gordon SS shell(literally just the shell and dash and what it needs to run. Everything else on that one is gone. one unknown running condition from a 2001 Grand Prix gt. Both have transmissions. I also have a parts 1999 Impala 3400 thats rotted out but runs and did drive( but no rear suspension any more)and leaks coolant. Also I'm in a visual emissions inspection only area. It will pass with the check engine light on.
