Gotta have a MOC SS
Hi folks! I just bought my second Monte Carlo SS. Couldn't help myself. So right now I have a red 2004 SS and a black 2001 SS. The red one unfortunately won't pass inspection in VT, so it will have to be off the road at the end of June. 150K and still runs like a top but it is rotting underneath. That's what the winter salt does here. I'm sad! I have had great adventures with that car! I had to go car shopping, but nothing would compare...
then I saw the black 2001 SS.
Oh it's a beauty.
Of course it has a few issues -- it's old, and it's been off the road for a bit. But only 75K, solid body, no rust, tight handling, and of course it can go right along
. A good deal, even if I have to put some $ into it. Had the horn fixed, and have an appointment next week to check out what might need to be done. I have a friend interested in my 2004 (it will still pass inspection in NY state), but if he doesn't want to tackle it, I think I will keep it for parts. Same engine and all. It's eerie how similar the two are. I'm excited to find this car even though my brother will think I'm crazy to buy a car that's so old it's practically a classic. But once you've had a MOC SS... well, you know!
