LMAO! I know better than to pick him for this one though. Don't worry, once the Big Ten Tournament starts, my Avatar will be Indiana-related till they get knocked out of the Big Dance. Then you'll see that 88 again LOL
I think jr's chances are fine at Phoenix. In fact, I'm probably not giving enough consideration to the tracks new configuration. History may not repeat itself here. Still, they ran once on the new configuration at the end of last year and the racing seemed the same to me. There is supposed to be more lane with the gradient banking, but it looked like a lot of single file racing to me.
I consideration Martin to be the most adaptive drive ever. Which is why he's been around so long. Think of how much the cars have changed over the years. The race style had to change too. I always say this about dale sr.: if he were still around today he wouldn't be that great of a driver anymore. Back in his day they bashed and clashed to win (which never was Martin's style). He couldn't do that anymore. He get killed at Daytona trying that with the way these cars handle. Oh... wait. sorry. Anyways, Martin has raced everything and been a winner at it for more then 30 years in Nascar and is still winning these days. Okay, it's been a bit. But he's watched great champions like Bill Elliot and Terry Labonte come and go. And he hasn't "washed up" like those guys. Phoenix, here we come...

MWR has always had this problem of finishing races though. They didn't seal the deal in Daytona, they were blowing engines and crashing last year....
My friend at RCR was pointing this out to me. Right now, Fords are generally unloading fast, qualifying fast, but they just aren't there at the end of a race. You run 3/4ths of a race with 3-4 Ford's in the top 5 sometimes, then on that lst start, you got 3 Chevrolets, and maybe a Toyota running for a win. Something to keep in mind on MWR.
