Just noticed taht Carl Edwards is running that Subway car. He always seems to have some kind of bad luck when he drives that car. He used to run it at Phoenix, Daytona in July, and Talladega in the fall..... always was a cursed vehicle I thought.

I'm seeing 19 picks lined up for this race... haven't seen RocknSS04 Wayne yet though. So I'm expecting we will run 20 people in this race.

I see about 5 people in total trying out the new strategies that are available this year... I'm doubling down along with two others, and two members have gone all in.

Don't expect picks posted as quickly as last year... I've got twice the work to do, and I'm okay with that! Just hope you are!

We'll leave teh windows open for about another 4 hours after this post.

After Martin wins it won't be hard to figure out the winner here. I can't believe more people haven't jump on this bandwagon, but we had one taker (03JGMonte). I can only assume not everyone has followed practice and qualifying...

The rest of his follow this thing called "real life" where MWR has proven time and time again they can not seal the deal. It is a place wehre drivers go when their career is winding down (David Reutimann, Michael Waltrip himself, Martin Truex, now Clint Bowyer and ol' Mark Martni).

We've seen MWR have these "good" runs a couple of times in practice... and they never have really sealed the deal.

The only thing I saw in a practice session that gives me hope for them is that they said at teh end of last year they took all their ideas they wanted to try and built cars with those ideas and technology. They also have the new experience of two drivers coming over from the two top Chevrolet teams that can teach 'Yota a thing or two.

I just don't see a win coming for MWR just yet though.

They're like Goose in Top Gun, I mean, from the first time you see the guy, you know nothing good can happen to him. This is the guy who is going to get you rejected at the bar, this is the guy you're ultimately going to feel guilty about, and nothing good can ever happen to the guy because he is just tainted.

Now Wayne is on your bandwagon, Brent.

How is old lady Catherine picking this week, Brent? She jumping on the Mark Martin bandwagon too?

She hasn't made picks yet, she is very last minute about these things. Which is another reason she could never be in our pool picks here! But she was winning her Martin gear when he won the pole yesterday!

I wouldn't be too hard on MWR. They have only ever had 1 race with 1, let alone 2 good drivers and they faired quite well. All MWR cars finished top 12 at Daytona.

Anyways, funny thing just sorta happened.

I've mentioned before, because I drive a BudChev people tend to give me lots of Dale Jr and Budweiser stuff. I have customers, sales reps and sometime random strangers give me posters, apparel, lifesize Jr "standee's" and even a 4 foot neon Budweiser sign (although it didn't work). Most of this stuff I end up giving away to some other collector as I live in a humble abode - I ain't got room for a lot of crap.

Anyways, 'Space gets me talking about my Volvo and I wanna show how this ties into the Dale Junior/ Budweiser theme. So I pulled out this poster to take a picture:

So that's the story of how Dale Jr. sold me a Volvo. But the neat thing was that I'd never really rolled this poster out completely. When I did I found out it was 2 posters!

I got these posters given to me way back before I had any idea of buying a Volvo. But I always though it was just the one poster rolled up. It was neat for me to see this second Volvo NASCAR ad that I never knew about. That's probably not as amusing to anyone else, both I thought it was funny that I was unknowingly sitting on this Mark Martin Volvo poster too.

And that, my ver good friends, is another omen that Mark Martin is going to win today.
(see, that wasn't off topic at all was it?)
