Off Week Thoughts and Discussion

I may have the points lead all year, but I am not the one dominating the season. There is one driver carrying the whole thing - Junior!!! All but for one race I have picked him. Some would call that blind faith in Junior. Those that would say that should be the ones to open their eyes. It has become more popular to rip on Junior, but he has contend to win all but one race this year. He really is carrying the banner and I'm just riding coat tails.
I'm still not sold on LeTarte, but a hell of an improvement over McGrew. He never won for any driver ever and has probably done more to diminish Juniors career than anyone, including Theresa!

Theresa was a short term hurt, long term gain. Retarte is better than McGrew and maybe better than Tony Eury Jr..... but no one understood what Jr wanted out of a car more than Tony Eury Sr. Too bad Earnhardt thinks that Eury Sr belongs in his Nationwide series shop.

Anyone seen the reports on the Michigan tire test with the new pavement? Pretty fast.....
The fast and the curious - Apr 04, 2012 - NASCAR.COM
215 mph straightaways, 175-180 mph corners, probably a close to 200 mph average speed... very cool.
But faster racing isn't necessarily better. Sometimes too much downforce and speed makes it so hard to pass because you're running on such a precise line that it is hard to jump out and pass.
I do'nt think that will be the case. I think the slingshot move will be a vital part of winning the race.. maybe the place to be is 2nd on that last lap even... kind of like some of those old Daytona races when the guy in 2nd place on the last lap won the race because of a slingshot move...
