Garage and Shop Discussion, Ideas, Hints, Tools
So where do you work on your car? Tell us about your Garage, Shop, driveway or wherever you work on your cars. What kind of tools do you use? If money were not a factor what brand of tools would you own?
What kind of flooring is in your garage? They make some pretty cool floor coverings these days, from snap together tiles to painted on sealers and paints. Who has the checkerboard floor in there shop? Tell us about any vintage signs or gas pumps and other garage decor.
Do you have any special shop skills that you could share with the other members? You can also post questions for other members such as "how to" about things in the shop.
What about your welder? Who makes the best all around welder for the novice hot-rodder to the serious semi-pro? (Hobart, Lincoln, Esab, Miller...)
Share your storage ideas because we all know that there is never enough room!
Feel free to jump in with pictures. Tell us about your work area.

My shop
My shop is an all around work on everything place. Unfortunately I do not have a garage dedicated just to automotive work. I do everything from woodworking, lawn mower repair, welding and automotive work in it. It is a busy place!
It is a 20x20 cinder block building with a 4-12 pitch tin roof and concrete floor. It is wired for 240vac so I can run my air compressor and and welder on high voltage. I have a mixture of lighting, fluorescent and incandescent. I hope to one day purchase all new lighting. Painting the walls white will brighten it up for sure.
My floor is also unfinished, just concrete. I am wanting to paint the floor soon but I have heard that it is important to seal the floor first to prevent moisture from seeping up and causing paint to lift. Have any of you guys had any experience finishing a shop floor?
Below is the only picture I have of my shop. I will post a better one later.

I have an attached (to house and garage) 4 car carport where I do most of my work. The 2 car garage has never had a car parked in it, and that's been 17 years now since I had it built, just stores work related items and other riff raff...
