So I just wanted to go over a few things...

First, I'm pretty certain the answer to my question is, "No, just keep on going like we were going."

I had thought at the beginning of the year that 4 segments were too many, and had considered shortening the segments to 3 segments for 2012. However, after the summer and all, I started thinking 4 9 week segments were cool. Anyway, would, 2, 13 race segments followed with a ten race 3rd segment be better?

Another possibility was a change in the points structure. I don't know that we have a problem, but you can win a race with 85 points or as many as 133 points. That means that races where you call the picks so well as to get 133 points give you a bigger leap in the points than races like Talladega.

I think it is too confusing, but what if the winner of each race on the forum had a points tally, then 1st place on the forum gets 20 points, 2nd 19 points, etc. I think this is too confusing, and it doesn't give you the points advantages that would come if you could pick 1-2-3 finishes either. It could keep the points race closer and make beating the other guy all the more important. Right now, ties don't have any affect on the points. under this system, there would be no ties in the points... tiebreakers would bust up everything.


This is all I can think of.... Right now, I'm not planning any changes. Just want to throw out a thread and see if anyone really jumped on an idea.



And by the way, this is my way of pulling a Brian France, "break what isn't broken."

I just hope that I'm able to watch some of the races this year, but I'm thankful for the recap's by Nascar.com

My vote is in, I think so far it is clear that there is no need to fix Duane's perfect system.

 

I don't know that any system is perfect...

And the vote is going the way I figured it would.. .but I figured I would just open up to offerings to change the system and "fix" what isn't broken... it's called pulling a "Brian France."


Maybe "Don't be a Brian France" should have been a poll option. We haven't even ahd a "No" vote.. .just a series of "Hell No"!
