I'm going to put some silicone spray lubricant in the tracks to try to help the glass slide up and down easier, it's the only thing I can think of. Looks like I'm the only one with these issues strangely. It's been a battle since I bought the car 8 years ago.

Well it is good they are guaranteed but it's a pain to have to change them out all the time.
Not sure if you have a salvage yard/ U-Pull it in your area you could rescue one from a donor car to see if that makes a difference?
I had a similar issue on a 97 Pontiac Transport Van and finally we just didn't use the window.

Update:

I still have the car, and the window regulators still keep breaking on me. The driver's one just broke again yesterday. The car was sitting parked when it happened (as it usually does). I am getting roughly 3 years out of each regulator, regardless of how little I use the car. That means since my last post I probably changed both sides twice. I don't even drive the car a lot as it's not my daily. Its kind of ridiculous. Still nobody else with this issue?

Default You’re not alone

I have 2 Monte’s (01/03ss) and I’ve been fighting the same battle as you and it’s a losing one. Both times it was the passenger that failed for each car, and Dorman was the replacement brand. Between the two cars I’ve been through 4 passenger side regulators and the only thing that kind of makes them work right is if I don’t tighten the window brackets all the way and lube the **** out of everything. But the drivers side on both cars are oem and work splendidly. I’m also having issues on my 03 with the window not wanting to stay in the tracks, it just wants to keep sliding forward and it’s already shredded the rear seal and now it pinches the seal and doesn’t wanna roll all the way up

Have you guys tried lubing all the slides and pivot points with heavy grease, like wheel bearing grease? I just had to do the window motor on drivers side, and my car is the 98 so no cables to futz with... I would get some :"dry slide" and spray them heavily before closing it all up. Other than getting the replacement units with lifetime warranty I would not know what else to do.. I know a guy around the corner has the 01 or 02 earnheart model and his window has been covered over with visqueen for years... have not talked to him about it.
Hope you get it squared away... I just need to know what I have to do to replace my electric door lock on the driver side. it has become too feeble to operate the lock . . .

It is not a friction issue that can be solved by greasing anything I don't think. The reason is:

1. The failure often happens while parked and nobody is in the car / using the window
2. I hardly drive the car, less than 1000 miles a year
3. The regulator assembly comes pre greased from factory and the failed one always still had lots of grease on it when it failed

Note this vehicle is a 01 so it has a cable and pulley system.
