Whinning Noise Coming From Engine

Yep, well mine is pretty quite at the moment, lets just hope it stays that way! 
Now I know exactly what the whinning is in my moms 2000 Bonneville 3.8L is but like you said, it works just fine. In fact, in the Bonnie, the only time it really whines is when the engine has a load on it...like climibing a large mountain. My Monte was starting to so it all the time right before I has the pump replaced!
