I have a 2002 Monte Carlo SS that has about 150k miles on it. When I push on the gas pedal the engine makes a winey electric car type noise. This usually happens after driving it for 15 minutes or so. This noise really worrys me and the car seems like it doesnt go as much either. Can someone help please!

 

Check for vacuum leaks, check all the pulleys to make sure they are rotating well.

Your cat could be clogged and the backpressure could be too much for a gasket
