does anyone know where I can get a "map" of the dashboard so I can get it off to replace the relay? Or even a detailed description of where all the screws are and stuff and how to do it, cause i don't wanna break anything on it. . .Thanks

Brian

You can purchase a manual from Helm for about $135 and it will pretty much have everything in there. I just ordered my Tuner today so in about 6 weeks I'll be ordering that manual.

Done! That was way easier than I thought it was. I just bought the switch (relay) from the dealership for 50 bucks. Then I popped out the ignition right and rubber housing. Then removed the left fuse cover and opened the glove box. Remove the screw in the fuse box, and the screw in the glove box holding the dash face in. Remove the knee bolster under the steering wheel (two screws) and Lower the steering wheel all the way down and put the gear shift in 1st or 2nd. From there its easy, pull snuggly on the dash starting on the right side by the radio and pop it out, remove the connector to the hazard lights, then pull the left side off. Twist the dash to the right to clear the steering wheel and bam, access to the switch. Simply pop it out, and replace it. Plug it back in and it worked. Put everything back together the way you took it off and your done. :-)

On my dad's 00 MC SS, it was the relay behind the hazard switch.. If he moved the hazard switch just right, he'd have everything back.. He did go and have it fixed though at a dealership.. Didn't cost him too much money because if it would have cost a lot, he'd found a way to do it himself.

The switch itself is good. . .so I'm kinda at a dead end.

Thanks for any help.

I'm having the same problem, except sometimes they'll work and other times they won't, any advice?

After reading this post, and your post about the trunk lid open warning, I'm beginning to think you may have a grounding issue. Like a loose ground somewhere. Connected to the body control module.

thanks a lot your a really big help! the only other problem with my car is that the check engine light is on and the code is for cylinder one misfire, i put new ac delco plugs, and wires, and all new coil packs. after replacing the (3.6) coil pack it seamed to fix my problem, started up sounded great, took it for a drive, then about 10 minuets in i could hear something rattling, or perhaps misfiring (is what the guy at autozone told me). im driving it to work today which is about 1.45 minuets there and back. hopefully it just needed driven so that the computer would recognize the change.
