I think I am going to gamble with the cheaper fix. Might lose 25 bucks, but better then loosing over a hundered.

I had the SAME issues and I fixed it in 2 minutes when someone said it was probably a bad ground wire right above the headlight. wiggled it a bit and it came right off. Try moving it around and see if it's that before you spend money.

Is this the headlight on the drivers side or the passenger. I also just installed a K&N intake and had to hook somthng up to the main ground cable under the intake. I wonder if that could be the cause now that you mention it.

I have a 04 Monte, it was above the driver side headlight.

Well it happened again last night and I took your advice. I macked right on and right above the hazard switch and it started to work. Guess I will have to replace it when I get a chance. We will see how long the smacking works.
