The above WDM is from my Alldata manual for a 05. The "flasher" or relay is part of the hazard and turn signal assy as the manual puts it. But as you can see by the WDM, it's the hazard switch. If you want a good shop manual, sign up with alldata.com, way better then Haynes.

 

Good diagram - usually the hazard switch is the cause of turn signal issues in the 6th gens. But do note this thread is almost 5 years old.
