This method should still work even with an aftermarket stereo - you just wouldn't hear the chime unless you installed the module. Are you positive the key is in the ON position and not the ACC position?

I put the tape on AFTER several costly trips to the mechanic, who tested everything and couldn't find anything wrong. All major systems on the Saturn had been repaired over the 13 years I owned it. Hopefully, this won't happen with the Monte.

np. wire a stock radio into the trunk and only hook up the connection to the computer to make it easier to reset codes. dont hook up the actual radio or speakers. Makes things way easier. Or just keep disconnecting battery when you flip a light. Works on all warning messages.
