6th Gen ('00-'05): Thud when tried to crank

Default Thud when tried to crank

Tried to crank car heard a thunk and now starter not turning over just a single click then nothing please help

Hard to say what's wrong. First thing you can try is to rotate engine backwards (counterclockwise as looking at from passenger fender) a little to see if starter is just stuck in out position. If motor doesn't rotate remove the belt and try again. Might be something as simple as a bad pulley, alternator or tensioner. Good luck

Thanks I will try that first I appriciate the help

I had something similar happen after I changed my injectors. Jolted the car so hard I thought I blew the engine or something. Turned out to just be a bad battery

Thanks guys it was my starter the nose of it shattered and wedged up in flywheel thankfully it didn't crank so it didn't do any major damage to flywheel
