I have also read articles where people said they need to do this very often because the symptoms come back.
i bought my car at 160k and just started noticing it around 165k.

i have a tube of general lube left over from greasing my doors that ill use to glop a little on the hub whenever i take it apart.

My steering column does the squeaky thing. I don't think its associated with the popping problematic columns I read so much about. Its the car only real fault, but its always been there. I only really notice it when backing out of my laneway and don't really let it concern me

As for a "rattling"/"clunk" noise in the steering, I would check that your sway bar has not rusted through (noise could result in the pieces bumping) and make sure the linkages from the sway bar to the lower control arms are in good shape.

Now, I'm not sure if these steps or concept applies to the W-body, but a guy on the Bonneville forum has a HUGE right up to lube the steering intermediate shaft (on the Bonnevilles, known for causing some noises if it's not greased up).

I looked all over the inside of that door for anything obvious. I spent about five or six nights after work trying to find the source of that noise and could not find it. I finally gave up because I was tired of driving around with the door panel off. If you do find the source,, please share it with me. If you have power windows, becareful pulling the plug out, it is very tricky and hard to reach.

Has anyone experienced a rattling driver side door in colder weather that is noticable going down bumpy roads?

Also,

Does anyone notice that the windshield washer spray for the driver side wiper spray seems a little less powerful than the passsenger side wiper spray especially noticable going down the road?

Finally,

Have a lot of owners experienced the squeaky steering column that sounds like wiping a clean window with windex on very slow turns?

Thanks
YES! YES! & YES!
The "rattling sound" is driving me CRAZY! I live in Philly and it's COLD AS HECK here right now... I mention that because I never had this issue and wonder if it could be the coldness pushing something out of allignment... My sound is coming from either my door or more likely, the drivers side rear quater panel. I have taken everything outta my trunk and the only "fix" I seem to get is if I bang on the plastic quater panel I mentioned by the rear window... Pretty scientific huh!?!

Squeaky coulum YES but for me, more like a clunk-clunk a couple of times when turning at slower speeds. Esp. going up a curb to get into my driveway...

Driver side sprayer... YES! Same issue...

Let me know if anyone finds a fix! Chad
