Calling all 2007 & 2006 Monte Carlo Owners, how can you tell if the drivers seat has the optional front side air bag?

I have a 2002 and I can tell it has a front side air bag because there is a plastic plate in the side of the seat that contains the air bag, but I think on the newer seats (2006 & 07) they did away with the plastic and ran it behind the leather.

Can anyone help, still looking at swaping in 07 seats into my 02 and don't want to create problems by installing a seat without an airbag when my computer expects one.

thanks, ya i love the way my seats look, there off white/tan color, but the quality of leather is much better on the 00-05.

i belive its called nuance leather/pleather. idk all my seats look amazing, except my driver, most of the time my butts there anyways. i want to replace the leather on it, but there very hard to find and expensive fromt he dealer.

 

i dont like the way the leather feels in mine but i do like the way it looks lol

 

As far as I can tell all the side impact air bags on any Monte from '00-07 all look the same.

At least in the sales brochures they do.

 

Yup, mine has the plastic air bag plate. Love my leather too, I hate leather, but this leather is different, its amazing.

 

I know gmpartsdirect did have seat covers for the '06/07 Montes. I priced a new cover for my '06. The back seat got damaged somehow? A new cover was $199.
