Suspicious noise
Just wondering is anybody had any ideas as to what is happening with my car. About a month ago I notice a noise coming from what I think is under my car (drivetrain, wheels). Its hard to explain the noise be its kinda like a wheel bearing. You hear the sound for one second then off for one second and so forth. So its not one constant sound, its on and off. And, I only hear it on a paved road with the windows up between the speeds of 100Km/h - 130Km/h. I drive to work on a 4 lane Hwy so these are the speeds I'm mostly driving at.
Now my tires are getting near bald, not quite but close. I might have 2months left with them. But that wouldn't explain why the noise is only apparent between 100 - 130. And I thought a bad wheel bearing was a constant noise. When I hear the noise I do feel it in my feet, barely but I do.
Over the month since I noticed this the problem hasn't gotten much worse maybe just a little. The smoother the pavement the more noticeable the noise. I was hoping when I first noticed this that it would just go away but its obvious its not and its starting to drive me crazy as I'm thinking it could be something major. I only have 30,000 Km's on this car and its never been winter driven. Otherwise the car drives great.
Any ideas are appreciated, thx.

Do you have the original Brakes still on your Monte ?I would inspect your brakes...Sometimes the disc brakes can make a noise & then go away...
Can you tell `if it's coming from the front or back ?
Do you only hear it at high speed ? Low Speeds or all speeds. ? Noise can be difficult to locate...
I hope our expert tech member's can post some suggestions.
This is the only one I have at present...Good Luck & please let us know what it was ? When & `if you find
p.s. You do have a SuperSuper Beautiful
Monte Carlo 4-Sure : )

Yes original brakes, I don't suspect I should be touching those for a while though the car is 5 years old its low mileage (under 19,000 miles). If its anything down there my guess is its the calipers touching?
Can't tell if its the front of back. I think the back but not 100% sure. Only hear it between speeds 100km/h to 130km/h which I find very strange.
ok, I'll check those. What am I looking for with the stabilizer bar? And is it possible for any of this to be failing with under 19K miles on the car ?
The noise comes and goes at speed or is constant?
Noise when cornering slightly, changes when you lean the car left/right?
Your description needs elaboration. If it comes and goes going straight it could be your a/c compressor.

If it's cracked - the factory ones are hollow and I hit some rough road once and broke it about an inch before the bushings and it would make a sound...it's hard to explain the sound...but it would make a noise as I drove because the two pieces of metal would rub.
I only hear the noise between the speeds 100km/h to 130km/h. Under 100km/h I don't hear it. And its constant between those speeds. And when I say constant I mean you hear the noise for 1 second then off for 1 second and so forth. I don't notice any difference when turning left or right but at that speed I'm not really turning either way.
