Noise when turning?
Hello!! I drive a 99 Monte Carlo. Just yesterday my car started making a weird noise when turning left. Can anyone tell me what this might be? Is there a possibility it could be the struts? Thanks!!
What type of sound? Have you noticed if the steering has gotten tighter? Have you checked the power steering fluid level? I had a saturn and when I turned the wheel it would make a slight noise, I was out of PS fluid.
Check out this link.

Had the same problem with my last project. There might be a chance that the strut bushings (most likely the top, it is always the first to go). If they are like my last car, the entire strut turns with the wheel. It wears out, just like other steering components. What happens is that almost everybody does not replace them with the struts. Common mistake (not saying anything against your abilities, it's just that a lot of people just don't know about this). Have them checked.
I have a 2001 Monte Carlo SS Brickyard I also have a strange noise in the front end only when I turn the wheel to the left- slight or all the way,I have new tires, new front wheel bearings, new brakes, and approx.5 year old cvc shaft on left side whats left that it could be ?????
