Exclamation Overhead Console Digital Display Installation

Hi everyone! Sorry I'm new to this forum thing so I apologize if I'm doing this question thing all wrong. I bought a 2001 Chevrolet Monte Carlo LS for fun and want to modify it, but don't really know how. It has a sunroof, but the LS model only has one button. I bought a Chevy Monte Carlo Overhead Console Digital Display off of a used Monte Carlo SS. I would like to replace the one little button with the Digital Display I bought. Does anyone know how to do this process? Thanks so much

The task you anticipate may not be worth the effort. The additional buttons are for Homelink (sync your garage door opener), OnStar, and the info center that displays mileage info, temp, etc. Here is a link to info about the retrofit:

I actually plan to retro fit a DIC in my Monte and wife's Impala using those directions. Since about fall, I had salvage DICs and built my own "T-harness" usinig info BBEngineer provided.

Default Monte Carlo DIC Upgrade

Did you upgrade your DIC? Do you know anyone that has, if not? Also, I am having trouble opening the link that was sent. Is everything pre wired or no?

It is a pain, but the easiest way is using a short "stubby" flathead screwdriver, remove the sun visors, peel the headliner back carefully, use the screwdriver, you must PRESS it in,there is a release recessed in it,then turn to open or close manually. Removal of the motor use a small 8mm socket and ratchet and remove 3 small bolts.
