Default Sunroof help

morning everyone, when i bought my car the po had told me the sunroof suposidly didn't work but she never tried it. This morning curiosity got the better of me and i gave it a try and it doesn't work

Now i have a bigger problem, i cant get it to close all the way, the back part of it will not close all the way. I tired pushing it i tried opening and closing it and pushing it, nothing works. I'm currently at school, so if anyone has any advice it would great so i dont end up with a wet interior

Hi `Keane,
Found the below on a search....I hope one of our member's that had your problem sees your thread & can post some infor to help...Good Luck.. Below is from a 98 Monte..

Manual Solution for 1998 Monte Carlo z34:

Pull down interior design near button, it's all velcro underneath. The motor is silver and on the bottom of it, there is a white colored ****, that has a slot for a screwdriver. I believe to close it is counterclockwise. For this you will need VERY small screwdriver, and requires much force with a small one.

I poked a hole through the interior, and used a longer screwdriver. More torque and less pain on hands. Poking a hole sounds weird, but to be honest, it won't be noticed much.

My sunroof has similar issue. The plastic bits and pieces in the tracks were jamming up. I had to remove the glass so that I could push the tracks back into place. I had to get the mechanism closed WITHOUT the glass in place, then I re-installed the glass. The glass come out after you unscrew a couple (four or six-I forget) torx head screws. Pretty easy job. Give that a try.
