Stock alarm system (7th gen) ?
Well if that's the case, i don't know who to give the credit to . . . . got home and you're right. . . the alarm sounds once the door/trunk is open . . . just trying to get in isn't enough to trigger it. Thanks for helping clarify it guys
It's honestly a poor excuse for an alarm to get in all u gotta do is pop the handle & push the rod down & ur in & it'll nvr go off only way it does is if ur opening it from the inside
Most thieves will just break the window....climb in and ransack the car and climb out without setting off any factory stock GM alarm....the only way to prevent that from happening is to install an aftermarket alarm system which can sence motion with a sensor to set off the alarm when the thief is moving around inside the car OR have an alarm system with some options installed where there is a microphone mounted inside the car and will pick up the sound of someone trying to break the window with a metallic object like a hammer or large wrench. Factory installed alarms only work when a door or trunk is opened.
