Default speedo problems need help bad???

there is a cable that connects the speedo and the tranny to tell my mph, and i cant seem to find the wire that connects to the tranny. My speedometer doesnt seem to work unless i get on it hard. Every onther gauge seems to work besides the speedometer and the odometer. I just got a speeding ticket because i didnt really know how fast i was going and the pig thought i was being a smart ***. so 96 dollars later i still cant seem to fix my speedo. Anyone got the solution on how to fix it???

well i'm not positive, but i belive the speed sensor is on the rear of the trans near the right side output shaft. and ive also heard that if you have something going out in yer trans or it has higher mileage you can lose signal because its also a magnet. if theres a bit of play in there might be why it works when u get on it hard. anyways if it was mine i'd try to locate it, remove, clean, reinstall, and try it out.
