Shifting Problems
did you ask and see the metal i mean what they are talking about because there always be a very slim shavings. in the pan hens that is why there is a magnet in the pan but if there were very big peaces a gear or two might have taken a dump before the replacing the valves. sorry to hear about the transmission replace. do you know if it a laget new one or a reman type claming to be new. a reman comes with all the problems from new worked out allready
So did you end up buying it? $3,000 for a new transmission is overpriced, but to be expected from the dealer. I see race transmission on here for $1,600, can't imagine install would be more than $500 or so, that'd be almost $1,000 less.
Well, it was through a dealer so I did expect it to be expensive. It is a new transmission, plus a warranty on the transmission, plus labor.
I did go there to ask to see the metal, but they had all of their lifts full and told me I couldn't see it.
The worst part about all of this, is that when we called the place where I bought it, they said my warranty was expired. By 2 days. We are trying to work something out, because I am still under on the miles by about 1000 or so, and we think the solenoid valves were bad to begin with, and that when we asked them to check everything, they really didn't.
