Default Shifting problems 2000 montecarlo SS

I own a 2000 monte carlo ss. And lately its been shifting funny, it will sometimes lagshift or rev for a long period of time before finally shifting. Or itl go from shifting nice and normal to really hard jerky shifts. The check engine light came on and i replaced the sensors that where firing off codes and the problem seemed solved for a little while. But just today the shifts have been all wonky again. Any ideas on whats going on?

First thing I'd check, make sure your trans fluid is filled. If it's low, find the leak.

I would also get the Catalytic Converter checked out. Known issues on 2000-2002 Montes.

However, it does sound like a transmission solenoid is on its way out.

You may be right on the soleniods. Would replacing them fix the problem? I phoned one of the transmission shops here and they said Id need to get the whole tranny revamped :s. I love the car but to get the transmission redone is almost as much as i paid for it.

the 4t65e transmissions are the weak point.

tripleedgeperformance.com is a good read on them, common problems, how to fix, etc.
