Had my car at the chevy dealer for two days they couldn't get it to shake, they are pretty much stumped. Fuel pressure's good no codes for anything. I even went over and drove it with the tech in the car and nothing happened. He did mess around turning the tcc solenoid on and off. So after leaving to go home the problem started up again and it was worse and won't stop now, even when it's warmed up and I also put gas in it so that must have been coinsidence.

So how common is the tcc solenoid to fail and how hard is it to fix? I'm taking it to a gm tranny specialist on monday, recommended by the dealer.

Yeah, guy at work has a buick lesabre 3800 that was cutting out all the time last week, it was his maf. Supposedly they checked it out and it was good, mine is doing something different than his too. He used one off a used car on our lot to check it I might do the same untill i can get in with the tranny guy.

So I took it to the tranny expert, he drove it around and said the torque converter is going into lockup too early and that's what the shudder is. He doesn't belive it's tranny or torque converter related though, he thinks it's something along the lines of a faulty sensor or something. He suggested the maf sensor so i put a good one in there, didn't seem to make a difference.

What about a crank sensor? I was told they are common. What's the symtoms? Remember i have no codes or dummy lights.

If a crank sensor is bad your car might not start, you can also get some stumble because the pcm uses what the crank sensor is reading and uses it to tell the ICM to send out spark.

I would think it should give a code though, the parts manager from where i got the car told me those are common problems. What about a bad 02 sensor?

Default stop throwing parts at it!

Go on ebay and buy an elm327 scanner for under $20 .There is a lap top version with a usb and a bluetooth android version. The bluetooth version works with a program app called torque. The laptop version ships out with 2 or 3 scan tools on a mini cd. . You can drive around with it and will show you the problem in 20 minutes or less.

You are sure it has nothing to do with hard parts in the suspension on brakes?

Possibly an axle? I would check to see if the boots are torn and slinging grease all over.

If it's not the MAF it could be your torque converter related. One thing you could also try is to leave the negative battery cable off overnight or for a while.

Fixed. My guy wasn't really sure what the problem was exactly so he used what had laying around; pretty much throwing everything but the kitchen sink at it. New valve body, PCS, TCS, spacer plate, and also an axle and stab link just because i needed it and fresh fluid. Gave me a huge deal on it. The problem wasn't really that the torque converter was locking up to early but more of the harshness of the lockup.
