Default Shake Shake Shake (Help :])

Started about a month ago, The monte usually begins to shake once i hit roughly 50mph and stays until i reach ~70ish, then stops, and comes back when i press on the brakes. I'm getting my tires balanced after work hoping its just that. but if its not, could it be something else? would warped rotors cause this?

Start with the tires - make sure they are balanced and not out of round or bulging somewhere.

Outta ballance tires will cause the shaking at certian speeds as well as bent rims

You said it comes back when you use the brakes?

Could be warped rotors! (Not uncommon)

Or If you recently replaced the brakes and rotors... like improper break in? (important to do it right)

Or a lot of fast starts and stops...EXAMPLE...STOP AND GO TRAFFIC,DRAG RACEING.. BREAK TORQUES....etc..

Id be curious to find out what it was...

The brake pads have about 6 months of wear all around. they're in good condition last i checked them couple weeks ago. but the rotors have been in since i bought the car (Dec2010) so idk how old they actually are but they also look "ok", i was planning to change them pretty soon.

I'd start with the tires and rims first also. Have you hit any large pot-holes recently?

Got the tires balanced and its still there. But did notice when stopping at a light, feels like the brakes loosen like the "warped rotor" feeling. I did hit a pot hole bout a week before it started, and checked the rack n pinion and tie rods, and theyre not damaged. So im gonna end up buying new rotors.

Just so you know, it's not a good idea to put new pads on old rotors. Either turn them or get new ones.
