Exclamation Service Engine Light came on

So today my "Parking Brake" light came on so I popped the hood and noticed the sensor that goes into the brake fluid reservoir was hanging out, so I disconnected the sensor and pulled it out of the reservoir, the light did turn off. My question is if I disconnect the sensor would it cause the "Service Engine Light" to turn on? My engine runs great no problems at all

Since the PCM probably relies upon a signal from the sensor I suppose that disconnecting it could trigger the CEL. The only way to know for sure is to retreive the code(s) and see exactly what triggered the light.

I did.. I just traded the Mustang for a GTP.

Found out today it was the Crank Position Sensor. The light for some reason went off though..

Glad to hear you came back from the "Dark Side"

So went with another W-Body?? I hope the GTP pans out better then the Monte did for you (I recall that you liked the Monte, but it was giving you some issues).

Anycase, what ever the motivator was, welcome back!!

I missed owning a Pontiac, I loved them despite their common issues. I loved the Monte Carlo, however I love how the seats feel in my GTP and the HUD. Can't help but smile everytime I get in it

Get a code reader if you don't already have one. You can get a basic one for around $50. I have one and love it.
