Default Security System

Hi, new member, not too skilled at automotive work. Just getting that out of the way.

I recently picked up a '95 Monte Carlo and the previous owner informed me that the security system was on the fritz and it needed a new battery plus terminal bolts because the previous ones were stripped. I dropped the new battery in after getting the bolts replaced and sure enough, I got power but the security light was blinking. Mind you, I followed a few of the listed fixes, the relearn procedures both long and short but nothing doing. The ignition was replaced and the new key doesn't have the passkey node on the side of it, I should say, but the owner before that said it wasn't a problem but maybe once in a blue moon and he only had to sit for ten minutes, let the security light turn itself off and then it'd start.

Here's where I'm at with it, though, the bypass module from newrockies costs $260 and I'd honestly rather remove the passkey system and be done with it. But even with a few searches, I'm hard-pressed to find a definitive way to outright remove it instead of bypass. Am I honestly just stuck here?

Some body lost the Key for the original and didn't fix it right they should have had the dealer contact Chevy and get a new key.
Here is what I would try if you can find a 95 or maybe even a 5th gen that is in a Salvage yard that has the Key in it. Take the switch out of the column and install it in your 95 now you have an original key and switch again. It might just fire right up.

I should probably be a little more descriptive, that's on me. I do have the original cut of the key and the ignition was already rebuilt as purchased, it's just that the original key is a different cut than the new ignition.

I still think it would solve it the problem and the cost is very little.
