Default Rough idle then dies

My 1988 SS has sat for 19 years and I just got it up and "running." When I let off the accelerator slowly, the engine will reach idle - a slightly noticeable rough idle- then gradually gets worse and dies. It used to dump fuel into the carb, but that issue is corrected. I can start it and increase the rpm and it follows the accelerator. It's the idling that is the problem. I'm hoping for an easy to reach fix....fingers crossed. Anyone run into this? Thanks in advance.

If you backed off on the fueling, did you adjust the timing on the engine?

Default up and running

I rebuilt the carb as I mentioned. The instructions said to adjust the float to 3/16'' from the top of the body. After a couple days of internet searches and removing and blowing out the ports on the carb, I found that the float needed to be at 1/8" not 3/16". Runs great. Back on the road!
