Hyper, I'm glad it's working. I've been watching this thread, because while my car has been in the shop twice now for it... They still haven't stopped the service tire monitor system message. And I'm starting to get very frustrated. The Key fob range has increased decently, but that message is annoying.

I just don't want to do without my monte again! I always get some stripped ugly *** 4 door with no gas in it!. Granted a loaner is nice to have... but s--t, can't they fix it rite the first time?

luckily I haven't experienced the same problems that you have! Hope all goes well!

Just wanted to post the final result. The small white box was the failed part. To about 30 mins for him to change, and another 20 for a power steering recall. All is done, and all is now well!

Default Problem with my 2002 Chevy Monte Carlo LS

Hello: I have a 2002 Chevrolet Monte Carlo LS. I have replaced the original clicker with the car with a remote that worked just fine for the last couple of years. I programmed it myself using the instructions listed on programyourremote.com or from my owners manual at the time (this was 2-3yrs ago)
Now that clicker isnt working at all and I did purchase another remote to replace the 2nd one I had. I have the new one and i went through the entire process as described on the website and as Ive done before. It gets to this part and nothing happens:
Press the DISP button to start programming. When the message PUSH FOB flashes, press and
hold the LOCK and UNLOCK buttons on the first transmitter at the same time for 15 seconds. A
chime will be heard to verify the transmitter is learned.

This part never happens.. it doesnt flash and I even tried pushing the 2 buttons anyway and no chime no nothing. It just sits at this point. What is wrong? Yes, Ive called my local Chevrolet dealership that handles my car before and they sent me to programyourremote.com site...im going around in circles. Can someone please tell me how to fix this or what is wrong?

I dont want to have to take it to my Chevrolet dealership because they will charge me union labor prices to look at or fix it.
Thanks,
Robert

This thread is very old, many of the members who were part of this thread are no longer here. I would advise starting a new thread and see if anyone jumps in with the information you need.

Best of all it will be done for free
What do I do just take it to Chevy dealership and say what this is a recalled defect and supposed to be fixed for free? Can you give me little more info what to do or say...Thank you very much.
