First post so hopefully am doing this right. Sorry if this has been asked before. I looked but didn't find anything. I have a 2006 Monte SS and need to replace this piece of molding (I think this is the part GM (10317932)). It looks like the mirror will need to come off but was wondering if anyone knew what else was involved (rivets/screws/pulling door panel/etc). Thanks!

Reason: Change title
There is a 7mm black screw that holds it in place at the end of the door. Take that out and carefully pry it up and out slightly with a non-scratching device and then it will slide back from under the mirror and off (confirmed on a 2003 today at a wrecking yard). The difficult part of installing the new one is the black plastic/hard rubber piece on the front might hang up and break off (like mine did many years ago). It would be easier to install with the mirror loose but a lot more work to save that tip, especially if it is at all curled from being stored on that end. If the new one is not flat with a small curl on the end, you might try gently heating and flattening with a heat gun (but don't melt it or heat the rubber glass seal). In my case, I was more concerned with getting new rubber on the glass but that tip also helps keep water out.
