Cool, that's one less thing to worry about.

I'm starting to think that it's the ignition switch that is causing my problems and it just happened to go out at the same time. Ha! There is a pun...starting...ignition...nevermind.

 

you might be right on this also i had one alarm in a older car that had the remote start on it. and would do this same thing.
try turning on the car and then wait a sec before tryign to start it.
becuse most of those Remote starts have to go threw your ing. they also force the remote start alarm to reconise that yoru key is in it and it could be jus tthat is all that is happening.
If it is not doign it all the time i would do the following cheks and also check that ing.
But i thought the 02 had the Ing. was in the dash not on the coloum on the 2000-05
might be wrong but if this it he cas ei didnt think it was to hard to get to Mine was rather easy. I had to take mine out and put the new one in becuse of the dealer ehre not willing to tow the car to thier shop to fix thier screw up. and i still havent gotten the rubber part on my dash or the color around it replaced and this has been since Aug.
they claim it is on back order still. but now im out of Warrenty. Go figure

 

Mine is an 01 and the ignition is on the dash. Did you say that's the easier one to get to? I tried waiting after I turned the key on and sometimes it still had that pause and sometimes it didn't. They said that they unhooked the remote start module and it still did it. So i'm guessing it's probably the ignition.
I just found a TSB on it too. Must not have been them. Clicky

 

My Service traction system light was coming on and then my abs, and traction off light so I took it to a friend that does some auto work for me. He replace the wheel hub on the drivers side, all of the brakes, three rotors, and caliper on the passenger side.After the work was complete it seemed to driveok home. The next morning when I got in it and reversedit felt as ifI had a flat tire. Ihad no flat tire. When I back up it feels like it is binding.Also the lights started coming on again! A year ago I had to have my transmission overhauled too(by a transmission repair shop). I had it looked at and they said it was the ringin pinonion carrier and to take it back to the transmission place in which I did. They found nothing with the transmission but said that the wheel sensors were riding on the front rotors....which I find very hard to believe because I watched it the brake job being done and saw them click the sensors back in. The transmission place said they did not feel the binding I was talking about. I am at my whits end with this 2001 Monte Carlo SS. Today I took the tranction control OFF and it did not do all those things with the lights. Do you now what the problem could be??
