pedal sticking
When i start my car up in the morning and try to drive, my gas petal sticks and will not allow me to accelerate. I end up having to tap it hard and then it will finally give and the car will take off. After this the petal is fine. What is causing this to happen????
I should add that if i let me car run for a few minutes, i do not have the problem with the petal
Please Help!

I'd immediately suspect that the Throttle Plate is binding on the Inside Diameter of the Throttle Body. You should take-off the Rubber Boot and shoot it Clean with some Carb Cleaner.
While you are doing the Throttle Body Cleaning ... unhook the Throttle Cable and make sure it's not kinked or has a strand of its wire broken causing a binding within the Throttle Cable sheath.
Although "The Book" says that lubricating the Cable is not necessary ... I dripped some Marvel Mystery Oil on the Cable and let capillary action draw some of the lube into the sheath.
That will smooth-out any friction happening within the sheath and put some lube on the Cable; protecting it from oxidation and the effects of just getting old in there!

Don't take it to a mechanic.
Take your self down to AutoZone and buy a can of Spray Carb Cleaner.
Take the Carb Cleaner home.
Get a screwdriver and undo the hose clamps and lift the Throttle up an tilt it so you can see what you are spraying.
Spray it with Carb Cleaner. (Have something to collect the dripping.)
Shoot it good. Clean the whole thing.
Put the Carb Cleaner away and set the collection pan out of there.
Put it back in the Boots and tighten-up the Hose Clamps.
Anything you might have to unhook or disconnect to lift the Throttle out for spraying ... re-hook up.
You are saving $90.00 and hour doing it yourself.
Bringing it to a mechanic isn't going to get it any cleaner than you'll get it blowing it out ... yourself!

The hose clamps he is referring to are those on the intake piping. It is the big black plastic pipe that leads from the top right side of the engine to a big black box right behind the headlight. This black box holds your air filter.
when the engine is hot the oil does evaporate and when you shut the car off the vapor goes upand stops at the throttle plate then it condences in the throttle body and plate making it stick together.
what i do is get a friend with a scan tool or take a measurement with a volt meter from the tps sensor. then there is a screw for the throttle stop, screw it so the throttle blade is just off of the throttle body so there is verry little space. then set the tps back to the measurement from before. and the problem is gone for good.
