Default Rpm gauge sticking

I have a 2004 SS and today when I drove to work the RPM gauge was not working. At lunch I drove it and it is working now, but it does not move smoothly, it is jerky like it is clicking at each little mark. Also it does not rest at zero when idle. It is below zero. The engine is running fine, it just seems like the needle is getting stuck.

Any ideas on whats up and how easy it would be to fix? Cost???

Default RE: Rpm gauge sticking

those are factory non serviceabel parts in your cluster. Take it back under warrenty and get them to replace it Sounds to me like you have a bad cluster. the clicking you here is most likly the gear stripping out and it is also the cause for it being jerky in the movments.

Good luck
