Default No spark

My 83 Monte Carlo is getting no spark. I have changed the spark plug cables I change the ignition control module the coil has been tested and also changed. I redid my ground from my battery to my block. Cap and rotor are good. Car has been firing for several months, then out of nowhere it stopped sparking. There is 12volts at the distributor and no fuses have blown.

At a dead end, any ideas or input is welcomed.

Just a wild guess, check if the rotor under the distributor cap is damaged.

A few other possibilities are the pickup coil inside the distributor which requires removal and disassembly of the distributor shaft , timing chain which is easy to diagnose. Checking to see if either the rotor is actually spinning or remove the oil cap and see if the rocker arms are moving when cranking over. I would also confirm there is 12 volts going to the distributor. Good luck

Default Found issue

So after posting to this form yesterday decided to take a plunge into the Haynes manual and read about all the tests that could perform on the HEi components. Most I had already read about and performed. I replaced the module the day before but not the plug that plugs into the module. So, I tested the positive terminal of the plug that goes into the module on the capacitor side, it's supposed to have at least 10 volts, mine did not so I replaced it with one that I had off of another problem distributor, it's voltage was above 10 volts so I mounted it back in distributor, put the distributor back, wires on and attempted to start and was greeted by large flames from the carb, spark had returned. Fixed the timing issue and I'm good to go.

It took me awhile to figure that one out but I should have gone back to what my dad always said... RTFM - Read The F+-/+-* Manual...lol
