Default No driver side ac

04 car,
Ive tried recharging the system and even having the actuator replaced, both have not worked.
I should note that when i added the freon, the driver side did get a little bit colder, but still no comparison to the passanger side.

Did you just use a can?

You are clearly low on freon, but the can isn't going to evacuate while filling properly. There is most likely a leak somewhere small, I would get a place to look at it, put a dye in, and then locate the leak and drain and refill completely and correctly.

Do you have an LS or SS with separate dual zone controls? Does the drivers side get hot when you move it to hot? I've had this issue on my 01 SS intermittently where the passenger side blows cold and the drivers side acts like the compressor is off. I believe it is related to the blend door but after moving the controls from cold to hot and switching to defrost and other settings, it starts working for me. The 2001 dual controls are vacuum operated and I think it causes my door to get stuck partly open. I think 2004-2005 operation is different though.

Were these steps performed after the actuator was replaced? I don't know if it works as a reset after you've already put the actuator in operation and I haven't tried it, so proceed at your own risk.

Actuator Recalibration
Calibration Procedure

Use the following steps to perform the calibration update:
  • There's one last step before you're done. You must calibrate the actuator with the cars HVAC control system. This is because the car doesn't know the orientation of the new actuator. The procedure for this is as follows.
  • Reconnect the battery for the car, verify that you can start the car.
  • While the car is off, remove the 10A HVAC system "DIC/RKE" fuse from the passenger side fuse box. Let the car sit for at least a minute. (The middle red one beneath the three relays)
  • Reinstall the fuse and start the car, do not touch any of the climate controls. Wait at least a minute while the car relearns the actuator positions.
  • Turn the car back off, wait at least 10 seconds, and then start it again. The relearn procedure is now complete.
  • This part of the process is correct for 2000-2005 Monte Carlos, the calibration procedure for the 2006 and 2007 models is probably slightly different, as those cars have an entirely different set of fuses.

It's the SS with dual climate, and the heat fully works with it on both sides. I did change the blend door for my driver side and I have done those recalibration steps when I was doing it but no different results
