Mine did the same thing all last summer and now it just blows hot air all around. Have you tried getting it checked for leaks and recharged?

Sounds like the AC works 100% on the passenger side? Could be a bad blend door actuator. I recently had my HVAC module all apart (to change out the evaporator core), during re-assembly I noticed my driver side blend door seemed tighter then the passenger side (like it had some resistance). I can't say it never worked, but I don't think it worked as well as it should have since I've owned it (I think when the actuator meets up with so much resistance, it stops). I found a couple spots that the door rubbed the housing. I used some sand paper and by hand sanded down those spots, now it moves as easy at the other door. When I re-assembled everything, I put the TINIEST amount of lubricant on the pivot points.

Unfortunately, the only way to do what I did is remove the HVAC module.

But if it's JUST the actuator, I think that can be reached from under the dash.

Blend door actuator. Pretty common on these things.

Here is a tutorial

The car only has one evaporator core (even though it has duel climate control), so if one side is cold and the other is not, I don't think you have to worry about the Freon charge.

I wouldn't be so sure about that Jason. When my freon was low my driver side wasn't as cold. But it was low because my condensor was cracked...
