My friends 03 SS had been randomly shutting off while driving then wouldnt start up untill after the third time. Now it wont completely turn over at all. We thought maybe it was the crankshaft sensor since it would turn off while driving. Well we replaced the sensor behind the pulley but still no luck. The fuel pump is working and fuel is going to the engine. The starter and battery have also been removed and checked and they are good.

We may be thinking since it was an aftermatket sensor maybe that could be the problem. I know MAf sensor are really picky if its aftermarket. Had to mess with that twice. Any way to test the sensors?

Any ideas guys?

 

If it was the MAF, unplugging it would work.

Sounds like it could be an ignition switch problem

 

Wont crank at all? BCM or ignition switch problem.
