Need Help Identifying Line Coming From Throttle Body
Hello everyone. A while ago I replaced my thermostat and noticed that I accidentally broke one of the brittle black lines coming from the throttle body. I was wondering what it was and what it could do if I don't replace it? Below is an attached picture of the line.
Almost positive that runs to the fuel pressure reg. Aside from bad gas mileage and possible codes thrown, it can possibly damage the engine. If the FPR malfunctions, it can fill the intake manifold with gas fumes and cause an explosion.
It goes right under that larger line. Just pull the broken piece out and plug it back in.

IMO thats not really an option on a modern car. Id do what whtmonte said unless that rubber is wrecked too. Either way its like $10 in parts at autozone to fix this even in the worst case scenario.
That is the Fuel Pressure Regulator. *IF* you want a genuine GM replacement line set, last I knew, they are still available. I believe you can find them on Amazon, Might not be a bad thought since the rubber connectors are probably brittle and a source of a vacuum leak as well.
Update: $30 from Amazon for Genuine GM line set. Link below.
Thanks a ton guys!! Was wondering why the Monte was getting only 25 MPG on the highway. I figure I'll just fashion something to plug it up for a little bit then get the old one out of the way entirely for a new one. Thanks again for the help!
I have been trying to figure out what this part was. With just a quick search on the forum, I had the answer. Got one on order now!
(I had taken this to a shop and they couldn’t figure it out and tried to tape it together of course that didn’t last long)
