As the Before mentioned....Delphi.. Is what I put in mine... From Oreilys...
I have 2 neighbors that work for Oreilys....1 at a main warehouse and one in the local store...

I have never run my car below 1/4 tank...EVER!
I finally had to change mine out at 159,000 miles...
So I guess you could say I got my moneys worth out of the factory original...

PS... I have owned Mine since it was New. (I ordered it from the factory)....So yes the mileage is true and accurate as to when I had to replaced the fuel pump...

The worst thing you can do..is run your tank down to empty before the next fill up.... Fastest way I know to kill a fuel pump...

+1. I've never had to put more than 10 gallons in my car for a full fill. And it holds 17.

I would just go oem for the little extra money it's gonna last you a 100,000 miles or more and I'm with you guys i never run mine below a eighth tank cause that way I never worry about running out of gas ever!! I never knew running out of gas destroys your fuel pump.. Did you try tuning the key on and off a few times to prime it ..

In tank electric fuel pumps utilize the fuel to radiate heat from the pump motor. When the fuel level gets below 1/4 tank the pump is no longer fully submerged in the fuel. As a result it can't efficiently radiate heat and overheats, which shortens the service life of the pump.

That's funny, because I consider half a tank to be empty

Does anyone know the Part Number for the Ac delco/Delphi Fuel pump Module that I need for my 2000 Monte Carlo SS 3.8.
I ahve too say my Monte has 244,000 and it has the original pump in it but the sending unit is shot and my meter is all over the place But Im going too replace the whole pump white its apart for peace of mind, I just found the compartment in the trunk to remove the Pump assy and its rusted and dusty as hell.
Any one out in the Durham region (Ontario Canada) know who can change the fuel pump for me and roughly for how much if you can get back too me. Doesnt have too be done right away.
