Unhappy My 2006 SS Stops accelerating after a short drive!? Please Help.

I start my car and begin to drive. At first everything is quite normal. Then suddenly after 5min. of driving the car stops accelerating as if it has shifted into neutral on its own. I pull over to the curb and turn of the car, wait about 10min., and turn it back on and the car runs normally again for a few minutes. Could this be a transmission problem? or what? The car has 94,000 miles.

My car has magnaflow exhaust system and a K&N intake kit.

I also recently tried cleaning the intake filter but i think I added too much cleaning oil. could this be part of the problem?

Any input would be much appreciated. thanks.

This could be a problem if the air sensor got coated in oil from blow by from the filter. I have a K&N and over oiled once I cleaned the little wire air sensor CAREFULLY with brake cleaner that does not leave a residue. My buddie who is a Mechanic told me that he sees over oiled K&Ns all the time in his shop.

Did this just start after you dinked with the K&N?
