Motor mount play

When I rock the car I notice the engine moves a lot back and forth...lots of play in the top front motor mount rubbers and the one hooked to the engine has play,are they supposed to be so loose?

By design, the two upper radiator mounts allow the engine to rock back and forth (should not be a lot of play, just a little). Is it making unusual noises or seem really loose?

there is alot of play,i ordered all new ones from rockauto way to much play,the rubbers inside the front ones were smaller than the metal they were sitting in..
