So i keep reading about all these warranty repairs on 01 montes and now i am intrigued.

I removed my resonator on wednesday and just had a pipe welded in place. Does this void my warranty and my chance of getting a new cat?

shouldn't void anything, it's after the cat so it shouldn't affect anything.

If you think your cat is clogged a simple back pressure test should prove it.

Not really worried about whether or not its clogged. I just feel if i can get a new one that i should while its free. Spend that money on something else

They aren't going to replace it just to replace it. It's not a recall, they will replace it if it is bad, it's more like an extended warranty on the part.
